So funny. Was just thinking of this guy last week playing with open ai whisper. It really did a great job transcribing him. But then I got to thinking it most likely trained on him.
Same here, and was surprised that my tween kid knew who the guy was when I mentioned him. Apparently his old commercials get reused and remixed in TikTok videos.
More importantly why did they stop making micro machines? They were my favorite toy as a kid.
(And why did my parents lose my collection)

Because you were supposed to clean your stuff out after college, but you just left it there! We asked you like 3 times to deal with it!
(Just a guess.)
We finally got fed up and gave it to the neighbors for their yard sale.

I laughed heartily when my father informed me that Us Brothers' MtG card collection had been tossed.
"I guess we didn't need that Mox we had been saving... who cares that the collection was worth more than your vintage Corvette."

Not sure where they went but they're back. My kid loves hot wheels and just graduated to micro machines (delayed due to choking risk lol). Not sure if they're back with any popularity, my kid is my only datapoint. Hot wheels on the other hand has a pretty entertaining netflix show. Season 1 was a claymation style and had wonderful voice acting. Season 2 is normal animation style you see everywhere now and a bit of a let down to me because S1 was hilarious but the kid didn't mind it.

Mine too! They actually started making them again recently, I saw some at Target.
Wow. I looked it up though and it seems like they don’t have nearly the same level of detail as the old ones.

They're chunkier than the old ones.
My mom gave me a box with all of mine and my brothers' old Micro Machines in it. My son discovered them and quickly found his favorite ones. They now go with us as "car toys" and "restraint toys" because they're so small and portable.
But the new ones are slightly larger and chunkier than the original.

Yes the new ones are generally garbage, compared to the originals. Race to the bottom, et al.
Also Transformers especially are just monobody plastic garbage now.

This is generally true of most toys nowadays, unless they are designed for collectors. The level of detail in many 90s and early 2000s figures are superior to the poor modern day stuff. In the case of Micro Machines, many of the molds are the same but the plastic is softer and cheaper, while the paint jobs are downright sloppy.
Didn't some unattended kid choke on one and their parents sued?
I wonder how the fastest rappers measure up here?

Certainly some of the folks doing the pharma/banking/politic post-ad proformas would be contenders if not augmented in some ways.
A lot of those have audio artifacts that clearly indicate they were sped up - weird bits of sounds being dropped in clearly unnatural ways, and such. They're probably not winning any contests.
Maybe for short durations. But when it comes to an hour, Rick Houlihan might be world champion.

One of my high school teachers was a friend of his and it came up in class all the time. He supposed lost his fast-talking crown in a competition while he was still in his prime as Micromachine spox.
I remember him more from the FedEx ads. Ah, the 80's!
