I think it looks like GitHub has found a bunch of old email replies to issues down the back of the sofa, and is attaching them to closed tickets months after they were sent.

That or my colleagues have suddenly gotten very interested in old tickets...

It's at that point now where I don't know if they have started having new conversations prompted by outdated email!

Yes, can confirm. Developers on our projects who typically respond to comments via email have been affected by this. Emails sent back in March are now showing up as comments on the issues with very recent timestamps.

Just had comments via emails I sent back in May and March pop up on a dozen+ issues.

Very strange it is.
