Our team handles this really well. I've mostly seen and experienced this in teams with junior DS or in teams with no PM.
Same in our team. It's a complete mess. Overhiring, over qualified, fight for scope...
I couldn't agree more with this statement. The tension between ambition and practicality is something that big tech doesn't know how to handle well. Especially for data science teams.
