Great to see this on HN!
Andy Hertzfeld's site Folklore.org is now hosted by the Computer History Museum (where I work). What a treasure trove the site is.
Super excited that Andy - and quite a few other key Macintosh folks -- are going to be on stage at CHM on Wednesday for the Macintosh 40th Anniversary event.
It's at capacity in-person, but sign up to watch online (free) at https://computerhistory.org/events/insanely-great/
PS: if you're in the Bay Area stop by to see our ongoing Mac pop-up exhibit anytime too: https://computerhistory.org/exhibits/hello-the-mac-at-40/

Always loved this site.
Great to see the About page says the site was transferred to the Computer History Museum
It is sad that additional Points of View were never added. Would have loved to read a Folklore site on Microsoft, Atari, etc from that eta

Alex St. John's blog was like that for Microsoft in the 90s, but unfortunately he took it down after a bunch of internet Marxists got mad at him for encouraging entrepreneurs to work long hours building games
He's very adamant about the image having Scrooge playing the fiddle.
I suppose we could find the exact image if it is a Barks, though I'm not currently up to the task of going through them all.
Don Rosa would probably know.

"insert a disk controller card into Burrell's Apple II with the power still on, without glitching it out"
Now that's cold calling without any introduction whatsoever ...

This is slightly unrelated but the intense childhood nostalgia I feel from the design of this site - its clean and beautiful in its way
Here is Bob Bishops website (he is mentioned as the source of the Duck images in the article):

Does someone know where he is now?

Sadly, Bob Bishop passed away in 2014.
He's still talked about fondly in the various Apple II user groups, his legacy looms large. Here's a page written about him after his passing, on the Kanasfest site. (Kansasfest is the largest annual Apple II convention) https://www.kansasfest.org/2014/11/remembering-bob-bishop/

RIP. Thank you for sharing.
