The identity of the defendant has been doing this for many years and is one of the original members of the Com. The people in that scene sim-swapping artists for their music are those that have already made their stolen millions, and have long ago graduated from stealing usernames and gamertag handles.
It always throws me off guard seeing the old state abbreviations instead of the 2-letter codes (i.e. Fla. instead of FL)
Too long? It took a year to arrest this guy. That does not seem like too long. In the 80s and 90s it took years, even decades, to uncover computer and wire fraud. Fraudsters would have careers lasting many years. It used to take forever to close fraud cases
