Presumably they make more money selling them in countries with subsidies, leaving the home market which abruptly yanked subsidies a bit like Australia which for years just didn't get any EVs to sell as brands could sell their limited supply more easily in other countries and get various benefits for doing so.
The country with enough production to ship then anyway is China and they look set to sweep the Australian market over the coming years.
