It’s simple: poor people have always been screwed by people in power. It’s been that way since forever. It’s Florida too, so there’s probably a racial component. You get to screw over poor people AND black people.
There is no larger point. People are cruel, particularly certain political parties that tend to maintain power in the American South.
Seriously. It boggles my mind why this is still a question. We don’t even have to get into the morality of it, but it’s simply not profitable to care this much, so why would Apple?
I refuse to believe that the solution to this is to throw our hands up and just accept that things like this will continue to happen. If large, multibillion-dollar corporations have such a hard time with complying with the law, and if we can’t seem to find a solution to that, then maybe we have to question the utility that these entities actually serve modern society. Maybe they shouldn’t exist at all if they’re hotbeds or criminal activity.
Can we please stop this canard? The youngest millennials are in their mid to late 20s, and the oldest are in their late 30s. Please stop generalizing an entire generation that for the first time in American history is expected to be worse off than their parents.
