Reminds me of people I’ve encountered who think they’re better at X while on $DRUG. Almost for sure, in my experience with these people, it’s definitely not true, though they’re convinced of it.
People driving while high are especially frustrating, because they’ve convinced themselves that there better drivers.
This is already true. You make less money but it stretches farther in many areas outside of major cities. Most people live in these cities because they want to, even with all of the drawbacks. Not because they have to.
> The world is sleepwalking its way through a newly unstable nuclear landscape. The arms control boundaries that have helped prevent nuclear catastrophe for the last half century are being steadily dismantled.
There is so much ignorance in this piece. Almost nobody in the real world abides by these arms controls. Russia ignored them. So did Iran. So will the next country. Why would the US abide by a treaty that’s being overtly flouted?
Also, how does recognizing this reality make things more dangerous like the article suggests?
Also, let’s not forget about the extreme cost of living difference between the Bay Area and europe. SWE from google aren’t easily buying homes here, especially if they want to live near their work.
