I'm hardly an expert on Bitcoin but was is glaringly obvious over the past month has been the highly speculative betting on Bitcoin. This run up seems like a musical chairs and when the music stops there will be a lot more standing counting their losses. #JustKeepinItReal
Well stated. I miss the old Mashable. Before it tried to compete with BuzzFeed, its readers were manic sharers of content. I wasn't fond of the new video direction it was going, rarely covering good tech news.
Because I recently read a really interesting story that talked about how science tends to get in the way of real progress. I hope you don't mind me sharing it with you but it struck a real note with me. http://www.thenewatlantis.com/publications/saving-science
I totally agree. We need to throw our reliance on SSN out the window since the hackers are selling all of ours on the dark web as I speak. I like the idea floated out here or some other strong ID route such as SSH keys between 2 parties. All adult American SSN have been compromised so we have to move on to something else that offers stronger deterrents against hackers or ahole credit bureau agencies like Equifax who steal consumers financial data and make it broadly available for hacking.
Yeah, not happy about Big Brother intruding even more here. I hate to say it but why can't they do face recognition on more likely suspects visiting ISIS strongholds and regions. Instead they want to vacuum hose all Americans in a wide dragnet. This is BS.
I love that Gates is driving money into this needed area. We need new ways of attacking cures and the tech arena should be the driver not science. IMO, traditional science has gotten in the way and their agenda isn't where it needs to be: to find a a cure and save lives (take cancer research for instance).
