I just got back from the Cayman Islands and there is a distillery that ages their rum the same way. Called Seven Fathoms rum becasue it is suspended seven fathoms under the surface in old whiskey barrels for three years, they do it for the cool temps, low uv, minimal evaporation, and because the ocean agitates it and mixes the contents.
I just tried to freeze my credit on Equifax. At the end of the process I received a “one time pdf” with a pin to unfreeze. The pdf was garbled and illegible but there was a number to call if you couldn’t view it. I called the number and was told their system is down and to call back later. This feels more painful than getting my identity stolen.
I love Mac and cheese and this concept so was excited when noodles and co came to Orlando but it quickly shut down. I hope you guys have better luck and make it to the east coast!
Yes. Almost the entirety of engine wear occurs when the oil temp is too cold. By turning on the vehicle and immediately driving (conservatively below 2k rpms) you greatly reduce the amount of time it takes to warm up your engine oil versus when left idling at 500rpms. I learned this from reading the manual to my BMW and Subaru.
In -20 degree weather you won't accomplish much idling and should purchase an engine block heater if concerned.
