I use a custom browser extension that is mainly used for filtering out pet peeves and regex matches and was wondering what everybody else used (if they use anything at all?).

> Anthropic begging for some guidance

Anthropic was "begging" to make it harder for competing companies to be founded.

I'd argue that most, if not all clandestine cells that call themselves themselves "Antifa" are as anti-Fascist as the "National Socialist German Workers' Party" were socialist.

I found the wording of "inciting violence" odd - surely firing a rifle at police officers is violence and not simply incitement for others to join in? It sounds like the author of the article is so obsessed with the social ramifications of acts they can't see the literal ones.

I contacted the QNX community relations manager a little time ago and (if I remember correctly) they said they weren't going to release any of the microGUI source as they wanted the community to focus on their current projects. Very saddening that all that useful historical source code is being left to rot.

Tangentially related, I wish more websites and blogs looked like this now. It's elegant and modern but simple.

If only I had the immense courage to warble nonsense in front of a projector displaying clips of pop culture for 20 minutes. Thank god we have such future laureates to do so for us.

I've managed to get it directly regurgitate an image from training data, which means any number of these images could be real too.

While I'm strongly against AI regulation, I'd argue this is significantly more interesting than people who pretend AI is sentient, especially when the prompts used just say the vague phrase "apologies for the content".

I noticed too; I managed to ignore it at first but it eventually became so grating I stopped reading shortly before I reached the end of the article.

I'm not exactly sure of the reason for the overuse but the sheer amount of times it is used feels artificial. Not "artificial" in an "artificial intelligence" sense but perhaps a corporate, "inclusive" thing[1] that may have rubbed off on the author during his time at Mozilla, or a political convention (which is possible considering the large "Fump Truck" text on his Mastodon page).

"Off-Topic: Most stories about politics, or crime, or sports, or celebrities, unless they're evidence of some interesting new phenomenon. If they'd cover it on TV news, it's probably off-topic."

I come to Hacker News to avoid this. You have practically every other website on the internet to discuss politics, why here?
