The CEO and other execs will get paid more if they increase profits (usually in the short term). But that's very different than your claim that the articles of incorporation force them to do it.
HWR_14

I'm not aware of any articles of incorporation that demand maximization.

You know this, but Apple also locks you into only supporting so old a phone when you submit to the App Store.

There's no reason code complexity or engineering time has to increase. You can just use the older version features everywhere instead of forking the supported versions.

Maybe he's no longer popular, but he had a cameo in Iron Man 2 and hosted SNL. That speaks to popularity.

Also, is favorable/unfavorable a good measure of popularity?

Steve Jobs was. Elon Musk is.

Outside of tech Warren Buffett seems popular.

Of SpaceX or of a special South African Starlink reseller that SpaceX owns 70% of?

Of course they will. If the prices are too high they can just lower them to whatever people can afford. It's not that expensive to cover Africa's customers.

> Are you guys seriously worried that Google is gonna steal your secret handshakes?

Do I really think Google will retain that information for "debugging purposes", and 2 or 10 or 20 years from decide to make a service that identifies me from my hand biometrics because it will make them more money than the class action will cost them? Yes.

They can. But you will lose a substantial percentage.

Even if they hit the stated goal job creation numbers, it would be over $150,000 in subsidies for a single job. Is that really worth it?

If they sold 100 million copies at $60, that still be would be an excellent ROI on $1-2 billion.

> why is Mike thinking he is investing if he is betting on a literal sportsbook?

But he's not, that's a big issue. If you download DraftKings, it's obvious you are gambling. If you download Robin Hood, and buy shares of Apple, it's obvious you are investing. If you then open Robin Hood and trade oil futures? 0 DTE options? What about when the same app shows you US commodities markets where they are binary options on if the US FIFA team make it to the round of 16?

The main difference between a car like this and a kei car is the ability to drive it, at least for a short while, on the expressway. If this could go a couple miles at 45 or 50 mph that would work in lot more situations where two neighborhoods or urban areas are connected by a short stretch of highway.

If it's the same system I saw, it's branded with the airline, but hooked to the government passport database. And if you read the disclosure, the airline promised to delete your data within some small number of minutes or face stiff penalties. Stiff enough that I believe that there is no additional information on you from using that system.

They have a privacy section. Not the best most reassuring:

> You’re in charge of what gets captured, and a glowing indicator light lets others know when you’re recording. We prioritize on-device processing, so you’re in control of permissions when third parties request camera or microphone access with internet connectivity.

There is no way that Elon Musk wants to be leasing out compute. He'd rather be using that compute to power Grok.

It is not an espresso. The temperature and pressure are lower than an espresso machine. The results would be considered analogous to more American style coffee. Meant to be drunk from a full mug (~177ml to ~298ml), etc.

It's marketed as a coffee machine that makes a single cup with a single pod at a time.

(Apparently you can tweak a Keurig to approach an espresso, but it's not the default).
