There was a science story published today on technologyreview.com that reported on a team that purported to essentially prove that quantum entanglement proves free will.
I totally agree with that approach. Just signed up, and can't wait to start getting messages.
Another interesting idea to consider might be some sort of integration with librarything.com, delicious-monster.com, or something along those lines.
I hope you're, at minimum, collecting some sort of data on how many people click through from the emails to get more information on the books, seems like that could be very useful and help you justify and build more features in the future.
Wow, thanks. This is a fantastic idea! Finding out about good, new books is actually one of the things that I find really hard to do. Usually I just have to wait to hear about it by word of mouth, which means my information is generally out of date.
Are there any plans for any sort of rating and recommendation engine? For example letting users rate books that they've bought and then recommending new areas of interest based on their ratings or something along those lines? (More difficult, I know...)
Unfortunately, I've been informed that HR will not allow us to consider remote candidates for some asinine reason. So unless you're able to work out of our offices in Silver Spring, MD I'm afraid we're stuck. :(

Very true, we've got a lot of Django stuff going on around here. Discovery, NASA, PBS, Washington Time, Washington Post, and a number of startups all using Django in one capacity or another.
You also might want to try getting in touch with the Python Software Foundation: http://www.python.org/psf/. Among other things, they're currently researching ways that they can be more useful to the community, and I know that things like job boards and job fairs for Python programmers have been proposed.
What sort of Python job are you looking for? I know that there is definitely demand out there for Python programmers who work with Django (a web framework built on Python, for those who don't know). We (Discovery Creative—part of Discovery Communications, parent company of the Discovery Channel—out of Silver Spring, MD) are currently looking for Django/Python people.
