For me AppData\Local\Temp in the users folder was the culprit with slow boot.
Deleting it solved it for me. It probably is safe to delete, but check https://superuser.com/questions/571901/is-it-safe-to-delete-....
That said, I'll probably ditch Windows as well if I can find a suitable solution for remote desktop.
