Your response is also emotional and almost hostile. On your initial question, do you honestly believe that if Google or Facebook can't deliver a profitable service then no one else is capable?
In my opinion, sice it appears that both Google and FB are high on users' data and don't want to consider alternative revenue models, they can stop beating around the bush and just quit the EU market. At least Google quit China and Facebook is also no existent there.
