also the rich absolutely _do_ owe society at large something: taxes. a thing which, as you get richer, it apparently becomes optional due to financial engineering

citation needed on that last claim. do you have universal healthcare free at point of service? do you have a healthy supply of public housing? do you let children starve, through no fault of their own but the circumstances of their birth? do you engage is ears of choice and murder 100+ innocent children in a primary school on the first day of the conflict?

the answer to some of these questions should be yes, and others should be no, if you're going to make the claim that the United States of America is the "Greatest Country on Earth, Ever".

consider a world in which same sex attraction was normalized and produced children.

would you need someone to tell you you were heterosexual, or would you figure it out on your own (having rarely, if ever, seen it before)?

try considering things from other people's perspective. you'll find that it opens up your mind and heart to various forms of empathy!

i'm curious, outside of new models of authn (such as passwordless, totp, hash algos etc) and new models of authz (rbac, zero trust, etc), what else is "constantly changing"?

even the items i mentioned only change every 5 years or so, in my experience. i accept that there will be a lot of work preventing attackers from gaining unauthorized access, but again this feels partially solved by just rejigging the authn flow (rather than username -> password -> totp (leads to password sprays), just do username -> totp -> password)

no, im running on the assumption that the heat will stay at around 35C but get progressively longer, for months at a time countries that have developed around ~20C heat will not be able to cope. many people will die.

and redefined the terms of "sold" in their contract to mean "rent, with a one-time fee"

it is more immoral to sell something you can't legally "sell" (permanently and irrevocably transfer ownership of a product), than to pirate that content (which has no level of expected payment)
