I'm not from the USA, does the FBI usually throw in grenades when arresting people for insurance fraud? If not, then perhaps other lower-quality social-media websites such as Reddit/Twitter might be more receptive to your comments?

By strong evidence I was hoping you'd link to the bill, or to factual reporting from a credible mainstream newspaper.

If you're getting news from strongly opinionated talking-heads, then that might explain the disconnect.

It's telling that you interpret an attack on heresy as an attack on the left.

The article was about heresy which he defined as a factually correct statement that will destroy your life if stated. It wasn't about being an unpleasant person with unpopular opinions.

The article was about heresy, not attitudes to gay people. I'm not sure why people are trying to conflate the two.

Are you talking from a US/European perspective? Being gay was entirely open and mainstream in the 90s/2000s. Although I'm not sure what that has to do with heresy which was the topic of the essay.

I don't think you need to put "heresies" in vague quotes. He's defined it quite clearly as factually correct statements which will destroy your career and social life if stated.

The article was about heresy which he defines as something which is factually true, not generic notions of free speech.

If I can respectfully say something here: you're making sweeping statements about people based on their race etc. It's going to be difficult to make persuasive arguments if that is your debating starting point.

I consume a wide range of media every day and I've never seen a bill that "restricts voting access for people of color". It's an extraordinary claim so you would to need provide strong evidence, rather than being dismissive.

You're hinting that most accusations of heresy come from the right (evangelical christians), rather than the left. This almost seems absurd to me, as someone who consumes a wide range of news media every day.

"not evasive the way this piece is"

I presume you refer to the avoidance of examples in the article. Your comment suggest he was correct to do so. Some people will be desperate to disprove that modern heresy exists, and highlighting forbidden opinions would help negate the entire article.

Cancel Culture has become one of the defining aspects of modern culture. Arguing it doesn't exist is going to be difficult when the elephant is clearly sitting here in the room with us.

Yes, doesn't work on iPhone SE (1st gen) or any iPhone set at larger text size (which is a similar resolution). Unfortunately many websites are not testing for this screen resolution any longer.

It's not buggy, it's deliberately written to be so annoying that you have no choice but to install the Reddit app. Reddit is a grotesque company, which for some reason gets a free pass for their abhorrent dark patterns.

Reddit should be removed from Google. It is not possible to view a Reddit page using a mobile browser. Google indexes webpages using an emulated mobile device. Therefore there should be zero pages in the Google index.

Reddit is a psychopath organisation. Strong words, but if you've ever followed a Google link to a Reddit page on mobile, then you would understand that no-one could accidentally build such an abhorrent experience, it is deliberate evil.

No. DVD M-disc are no longer manufactured, only blu-ray M-Disc is available. Which is a pity, because the DVD version was rated for longer longetivity.

Google is a psychopath business partner. It is important to understand this if you are to benefit from a relationship with them. They seem perfectly normal and useful, and then one day will "snap" and destroy your business, banning you for no seeming reason.

This seems a useful service. Yes, use it for your business benefit, but just understand that the psychopath may turn any time, and plan your business contingencies accordingly.

Thank you Vuescan for saving years of my life.

I have a huge 35mm collection that I needed to scan and had acquired a Nikon Coolscan 5. Not only was the Nikon software unsupported on modern OSes, it had severely limited capabilities in terms of RAW and batch scanning.

With Vuescan I was able to setup a workflow where I pop in a filmstrip, and it scanned them all with no user intervention and saved as both RAW and TIFF. Then when it ejected the filmstrip 15 minutes later I just fed in a new one. So I could have a normal work day alongside the task. Just superb software.
