First, absolutely not.

I would love to know what something like this would look like but bottom line is that it would need to be automated and I can't think of anyway to do that.

How would work be verified? It would need to be done by people and as soon as there are people verifying the work those same people would be better off verifying fake work.

Typical biased unfounded hate for Bitcoin as the top comment.

1) By Old age - surrounded by loved ones after a life well lived.

2) Shotgun to brain - Instant, painless.

3) Asphyxiation - By Nitrogen or Carbon monoxide (car in the garage) or a bucket of liquid nitrogen in a confined place.

Seems normal on HN for a person to get downvoted for stating a simple fact. I wish I could understand this weird HN bias.

I started a book review blog 3-4 years ago and it is currently my largest source of income. I started it as a hobby just because I didn't like GoodReads and thought I could do better by letting people post basically whatever they want. Like Goodreads+Reddit but I am trying to give users total freedom.

"If you think Darwin’s preeminence will save him from the mob, look at the scientists and philosophers who have already been canceled for holding the views of their own age rather than ours: Sir Francis Galton, Sir Ronald Fisher, H. C. Yarrow, and Carl Linnaeus. Voltaire is condemned because he saw Africans as "children," Immanuel Kant because he ranked the races of the world, with whites at the top and indigenous Americans at the bottom."

I've been doing the Census in the evening for a little extra cash, driving around rural Ohio my observations have been that people in the US are not a rational bunch. What I am seeing is a backlash against recent liberal advances. I'm feeling it myself. The other day I was describing a book to my girlfriend and used the word "female" for the female character. She told me, and I QUOTE, "You need to stop using the word female, its derogatory, especially when a male uses it." I think this quote perfectly sums up the end of reason in the US.

So this is the reason women need to get paid more and deserve to take the jobs from more qualified men, because they lack confidence? Cool.

Given time any work place will act to "optimize" what they get out of employees. Trucking is the perfect example. While on the road literally every inch of movement is tracked and every second accounted for. Also a good example because this workforce is extremely replaceable so new hires have little leverage to reject this type of surveillance.

The only thing anyone can do to avoid this encroachment is to refuse to work for companies that monitor and unfortunately most workers in the world do not have the luxury to choose where they work.
