The relationship with a potential employer and a romantic interest have the same dynamics between creepy vs confident/hustling. We all have seen examples of both, but if any have tried to project confidence or to hustle to any significant and meaningful degree you run a non-trivial risk of appearing to cross lines / be creepy.

Often it isn’t one or the other. Steve Jobs was both a heartless ass at times while also being a brilliant hustler.

I get the feeling that the clarity of the idea and outward, ease of discerning progress are the principle criteria used to distinguish the promise of the team and idea. In the case of progress, especially early progress, being full of'black triangles', accomplishments mostly only appreciated by those in the know, is there much effort put into trying to see that? Or do you more stick to the clearly understandable progress?

Ironic that a post designed to attempt to rid the world of obfuscation and confusion has a UI that commits the cardinal sin of auto loading the signature list so that it's virtually impossible to get to the footer without letting all the signatures load. :)

Reminds me of getting classes on water conservation in High School only to walk outside of class and see that they are watering the High School's parking lot.

How very often the government evokes the classic hypocritical parent of the old anti-drug campaign commercial of the 1980's where the son finally breaks and yells at his Father "I learned it by watching you Dad!"
