"A collective name for ancient species that are not human and are typically considered evil by human civilizations of the Seventh Age. They arrived at the dawn of time, under unclear circumstances. Since the Second Age, they have been involved with varying intensity in various wars between species, fought partly against each other and partly against other species. Since the Third Age, their largest groups have been forced underground or underwater. However, their power does not lie in their numbers—the human races and other descendant species far surpass them in this respect—but in their natural magical abilities, their proficiency in ancient magic, and the knowledge and experience gained from their immeasurable age."

Hopefully this could be the first good thing about Brexit...this might not get implemented in the UK or there will be a delay!

What's to point of all this? Everyone will use Signal or some other E2E encrypted messenger, this is just bone tossing. Useless politicans spending time on useless things.

I don't get why any of these devices are still intact...

The whole "digital boarding pass" is a lie. My dad don't have a smartphone so you check in at home and at the airport at the desk they print the boarding pass for you if you checked in. Sorted.

The website itself is obfuscated, it’s not easy to find the C sources at all!

Thank you for this! I was looking for something like this for ages! Used very similar in browsers but never imagined to have a system-wide version!

Meta should be wiped from this planet...when I read sh*t like this I always say something like "this is the worse" until next week when something even worse comes out re Meta

Internet Explorer all over again...they never learn. Edge was the last thing that pushed me away from Microsoft. The constant new - privacy invading - features, frickin' widgets and ad-filled home-screen-tab-thing.

How much telemetry goes back to Meta from these devices still? I’m already looking for one on Gumtree and they’re quite cheap! Quite a few sizes as well! I always wanted a customisable desk tablet thingy!

I mean I would want to do this when I do confidential stuff like HR and Payroll. I would be interested above what level are employees are exempt from this. I don't think Meta wants to train their AI on their own C-Level execs but who knows...it's Meta

I would go offline but never retire from tech, I would miss music terribly. I would also move all my ebooks over to an e-reader and that's it. If I can live somewhere offline with my music player and e-reader that's fine.

We need something like this in the UK given the constant abundance of renewable energy.

I wish there would be something like this in the UK but with county instead of state. E.g. swindon.wiltshire.uk or sheffield.southyorkshire.uk

I know what is waking me up at night...my neighbour is going out to smoke weed at 0:30am and 3:00am and the smoke wafts into my room (it is warm enough to leave one window slightly open). He's also listening to some podcast w/o earphones and also coughing a lot because of smoking the weed.

Good stuff, but it's telling me that my USB-C Thunderbolt cable has been plugged in upside down but the connector handled this. I was not aware that you can plug in something into USB-C upside down!

This sounds crazy! Makes budgeting impossible! Imagine someone is on low income and doesn’t know how much the grocery shopping will cost! Whoever came up with this should be burned

I agree with the article but "Never gets punctures"? How's that possible? OP installed some solid tyres?
