I keep my profile updated as a consultant because it lets clients and others in my company get a fuller gauge than my one pager. I’ve also got my most recent and prior job from having a price and responding to the right recruiter, I’ve also had a handful of interviews as well, which is honestly more than I’ve gotten from trying to apply to random job board postings.

The butterfly switches break easily and replacing the entire keyboard because of it is a pain. I held on to my 2015 intel MBP for ages waiting for them to address that.

We had a classmate would would wander off with his laptop unlocked so one day we set all his system sounds to fart noises and cranked up the volume. He came back to class minimized a window and the whole class heard the noise and cracked up. We also got good mileage out of adding a wireless mouse on another occasion and zipping his cursor around the screen for probably a good ten minutes.

That would track, one of the few things I miss when writing c#. Instead you break out into interfaces as much as you can.

Part of the issue is Xbox segmented the market with the less powerful Series S and put constraints on releases needing to have feature parity between the two, quite a few devs have had issues with. It delayed Baldur’s Gate 3 for months until MS waived off the split screen co-op. Seems bizarre to chase power at hard and then make it harder for your devs to develop to it.

I love my iPad, but I’d still rather have knobs and buttons in my car, if I need to adjust it while driving I need to be able to find it without looking.

For me it’s not even just the pivot, but the internal tool they built incidentally that’s the product they pivot too.

I bring this up in PRs, as I know with my own experience I don’t always mean to commit it commented out, sometimes it was just for testing, or it should have been deleted after I was done refactoring.

I adore these, I’d agree there’s something of a similar vibe going on between them. Lots of optimism, but not in a saccharine way.
