Other forces at play Vista bought out Pluralsight using a financial vehicle that really only made sense due to low interest rates.

I don't mean to insinuate they are like for like. I just mean Apple is starting to pick up scrutiny on interoperability which started with USB-C and I think the focus on this project is going to increase the scrutiny especially if Apple cuts it off.

Fortunately, I think this is going to be a forcing function for the RCS conversation.

Unfortunately, I'll be waiting for the data loss post coming in the near future. As some one who had to deal with a stuck iMessage validation with Apple support on a genuine iPhone a few years back this can get sticky.

Picked up a Starlabs StarLite a few years ago and I love it. Really one of the only 11 inch laptops left that has (fairly) decent specs and linux.

Agreed, and many of them don’t know when they are lying. It’s easier to sound really confident when you don’t have the domain knowledge to know if you are telling the truth.

That was my first thought as well. While I don’t know their financials intimately from the outside I don’t know what they have done in comparison to Apple of yesteryear to triple the market cap. Feels ominous for the dollar.

That was my experience as well. Home labs seem to be cyclical for a lot people including myself. Started with a big overkill rack to learn technologies, and now I’m down to a 10 inch desk rack that is ATX case size with just a few things to run my network and small VMs.

Another day another Facebook “inaccuracy”. A rose by any other name.

I’m really not one for conspiracies so I won’t go that far but If I was a drive manufacturer this would certainly be my favorite cryptocurrency.

I used to have a professor who would say all the time “there is no such place as away”. Reading this article reminded me of that. The US has made a whole bunch of policy decisions to try to push things “away”. I think we are going to see more and more outputs like this in the future.

It does when you literally can’t operate your store in another mall.

I also don’t think this analogy scales very well since many stores operate both in and out of closed shopping centers. Including Apple’s stores.

I totally agree. My personal philosophy has been to only buy OT devices that fail/stop being supported to being manual and not fail to being e-waste.

I will preface with I don’t have much domain knowledge in crypto. Is there a good faith expectation that this can even go higher?

That's why I was asking. For the most part my experience and anecdotes matched up with almost everything in the article expect that piece. Just wanted to get some other opinions.

“It's also critical you list your GitHub profile or other prominent open source work that shows us you're contributing to the open source community, passionate about the work you're doing, and looking to improve your skills.”

Is this still top advice?

Not to be reductionist but I don’t see this as a totalitarian issue. This is a free market decision. $Company decides to sever ties with another organization. That choice can be good, bad, reactive, overreactive, misguided, etc but it’s still a market participant choice.

Market remains open for other market participants to make other choices.

I think you hit it head on with this. It seems to be a control thing first and foremost. The worst nightmare is that you will grab their content in a text only format with no ads.
