The goal for the interviewer is to have a much higher ratio of good/bad candidates after the first screening. This means the more costly time you spend on the second step has a better return.

Right, they're easy to detect today, that's not going to last long. The whole point is to prevent cheating, well, cheats aren't going to follow the rules. Written tests/in person tests aren't a complete answer to this.

Society rewards credentials and skill. So both are but one is easier to get with cheating.

It can fit on augmented reality glasses, eventually.

I wonder if manufacturers are using LLMs to find all the dumb loopholes in the laws that they can.

No, houses were much cheaper compared to income.

It's shocking how poorly built these houses are. No insulation, broken roof trusses, gas leaks, concrete property walls falling over.

It's not like houses were always perfect in the past though. My 1953 house has construction debris mixed in to the concrete foundation in the corner of the garage, where I assume they ran out of concrete, and knots in the roof planks patched with garbage as well.

You think they wouldn't use it? They're using all the things they can get their hands on. The census also has side effects on the franchise.

The US Government is the entity that weaponizes the data. The most obvious example is the Census Bureau compiling lists of people of Japanese descent to imprison during WWII. That's just the most obvious one that I know of without looking up more.

The real push for this now is to form lists of people to disenfranchise.

Did he have to? Some of that sounds like choices, especially in the start.

For some reason they're not threaded on the twitter link, but you can see them threaded on the xcancel link:

Starlink is growing. Valuation is too high, but it is growing.

Low earth orbit includes orbits that take from hours to centuries to decay, depends a lot on altitude/apogee/perigee. Starlink for multiple reasons places satellites in the range where it takes ~5 years to decay, thankfully. Kessler syndrome is real though, and satellites do collide or break apart in LEO.

Using c++ templates wrong in the year 2000 exposed me to real compiler bugs in the Microsoft c++ compiler at the time, the kind that would make the compiler crash.

I think the passive version is the tank stays in a pool all the time.
