I'm aware. regardless, when it comes to models, the advice to "not use Google in Production" falls short.

there was a community of people who used (famously sycophantic) gpt 4o as—for lack of a better word—a friend, who were devastated when it was shut down

I suppose at least in this case the loss is not an emotional one?

have you experimented at all with the deepseek flash models?

in this case, the other frontier shops are all doing the same thing, so maybe the advice here should be "don't use closed weight models in production"?

firefox 149+ actually bundles brave's adblock-rust as well, it just doesn't really use it. waterfox does enable it and use it, though they're still testing (https://github.com/BrowserWorks/waterfox/issues/4182).

all of that being said, I was answering the question about mv2 broadly, not ad blocking.

this is not correct. neither brave nor edge has committed to that.

as of yet, there's no (publicly stated) contingency plan if the upstream mv2 code is excised, but I could be mistaken.

I meant if you wanted to update the maps in your gauge cluster.

you said they bothered you, so I suggested a fix. no obligation to do it if you don't care.

you actually may be able to update these. it's worth looking into.

they're not saying it's fair to consumers, they're saying "it's not just apple, microsoft does it too", i.e. that judgement on apple should be made in the context of how its competitors behaved

valve themselves also personally employ multiple major contributors to the amd linux drivers

drivers for what else, exactly? valve is already regularly upstreaming work in major open source linux drivers (and has been for a long time)

this is sarcasm, right?

I'm aware that it was marketing. I was trying to make the point that if it were really so dangerous, they wouldn't have released it at all, (prompt injectable) "safeguards" or otherwise.

I thought they said mythos was too dangerous to make generally available?

believe it or not, I was genuinely trying to be

well, sure, and I support that...I was purely trying to address the realisticness(?) of the request that it not happen anymore. possibly the wrong forum, my bad.

that was precisely my point: I care, we care, but sadly the spammers won't. disappointed to see it came off otherwise, I apologize.

to be clear: OP, I am rooting for you!

my sincere(!) sympathies, but realistically this won't reach anyone relevant. best of luck in the job search.
