I bought and used sailfish on a Sony phone (also had a second one), with my work issued SIM card for mainly calling as a test, it also had a few popular messaging apps like WhatsApp and whatnot, maybe for 5 years, but got tired of the interface and apps mediocrity. On a personal phone after several years and several mediocre android phones that had to be switched way too often for my tastes I switched to an iPhone. And as I expected cause had a Mac 20 years ago, despite using Linux for all these years, God what a pleasure to use an iPhone. But anyway got tired of that sailfish phone and replaced it with an older pixel + graphene, not as huge as iPhone but still much better than the sailfish os, in both app support and interface. If you ask me this are the only tho decent phones now an iPhone or graphene. That Sony is running murena now I think cause it’s on the table getting an update once in a while.

I use Linux for 20 years and I study programming for 10 years, bought 100 programming books, so a linux distribution is basically a programming language container. Slackware was for lisp. Now instead of kiss its simple ain’t easy with clojure. Debian is very tightly tied to perl with both communities bent on reproducibility. (Tho rust is replacing perl). Red hat and ibm is a Java shop. Centos is a scala platform at cern. Ubuntu and Python is a data science platform. Sure is a better Debian like ruby is a better Perl. And here we come to arch, when 10 years ago after a brief stunt with Perl basics I started learning c# the first thing I did is try to run the excercises on the raspberry pi. But because of some hard float soft float something they didn’t work. So I had to jailbreak the raspberry pi and run this new distro on it, the arch Linux. Where it just worked. You see ethics of ai and maybe like data science require the system to be fsf endorsed free system that’s what Debian gnu linux reason detre is. And Debian as Steve Jobs with Java were like against mono, you shall not pass. But for a gaming platform that’s a little bit different. Ex red had ceo now works at unity this mono fork. Ms bought blizzard, they want into this gaming thing badly. So that’s why steam os is arch now, less strict than Debian on the Libre side of things. The rest is history. :D

Maybe somewhat off topic but my GitHub app on an iPhone haven’t been updating the feed for a few months now, so no have relogged earlier but still the same. Edit: could it have something to do with lockdown mode or how is it called now.

I was recently thinking that object orientation is kind of everything is a file 2.0 in the form everything is an object I mean ofcourse didn’t pan out that good. Haven’t googled yet what people had to say about that already before. P.s. big fan of ur comments.

Isn’t it crazy that we already have riscv rpi like boards what a time to be alive :D Now we only need a graphene phone with riscv. :) No matter if low spec or something if it just works :D Like the Nokia where sailfish was born or something :D

The first thing I think of when thinking of Perl is anything but humble, not because Perl monks aren’t humble, they certainly are, they even inspired rubys we are humble cause hi is humble I suppose :D but like I said elsewhere Perl is like nineties music its simply the best, so in my eyes Perl programmers are (unix) greybeards and the most expert you can imagine, so don’t think they could be as humble cause the level of the competency could allow quite some hubris. :D Anyway this is the analogy I see with programming languages and Linux distros, Slackware was created for lisp and its KISS principle later manifested in clojure. Early Debian was released with same Perl versions as the learning Perl book. And both have heavy emphasis on reproducibility and testing. And redhats and ibms other business is Java and redhats ceo even went to work on unity a mono fork or something. So you Perl came from Unix but it shaped Linux and by extension floss world pretty much. It’s like an elder who knows all the answers but nobody asks. Edit: ah and yes Larry was right about timtoady indeed, it can be Perl or Python or whatever :D

I just lost 50 kilos in 10 months. Quit sugar, walk 10km a day and most importantly ate almost only soup. So kind of low carb vegetable oriented stuff.
