I don't see how changing country makes any difference? He'll have to put up the price for his existing UK customers to cover the costs of his overseas staff
He works internationally, the drop in pound means he would have been earning more as the pound dropped. Surely he's going to have to put his prices up, which could have been his solution anyway?
I'm sure the real reasons are political rather than financial.

That's already an issue about alpha.elm-lang.org being broken, changing it to point at package.elm-lang.org gets me further but the next set of errors are so unhelpful I'm giving up.
Most companies understandably don't like publishing a salary so the recruiter acts a filter on both sides.
I'm a hiring manager and having a firehose of applicants would fill me with dread. My company has tried various "hacker" recruitment sites and they are all terrible - in terms of candidates and the supposed tests they use to rank applicants.
Recruiters are expensive but so is my time, they are very much a necessary evil for the foreseeable future.
Surely it's just the difference between a product for mass consumption and a niche one.
