I'm no fan of Angular but that's a bit harsh.

Surely it's just the difference between a product for mass consumption and a niche one.

I don't see how changing country makes any difference? He'll have to put up the price for his existing UK customers to cover the costs of his overseas staff

He works internationally, the drop in pound means he would have been earning more as the pound dropped. Surely he's going to have to put his prices up, which could have been his solution anyway?

I'm sure the real reasons are political rather than financial.

How's the uptake for ocaml going? Its had 20 years maybe next year will be its year?

For a language aimed at beginners its advocates really make it difficult to recommend getting involved with it

Your response typifies the unpleasant atmosphere I've witnessed around Elm which is a shame as it's author and intentions seem so good.

That's already an issue about alpha.elm-lang.org being broken, changing it to point at package.elm-lang.org gets me further but the next set of errors are so unhelpful I'm giving up.

It explicitly says I'm not allowed to tell you that the auto upgrade doesn't work for me and there's no details on how to do it manually.

Any upgrade guide? My 0.18 elm project doesn't seem to work with the latest version and the links it tells you to go to don't exist.

This is pretty much consistent with my elm experience, I've never found it professional enough to consider for a production application.

There's some excellent libraries but the Elm documentation is terrible compared to Reason.

TypeScript has to handle every JavaScript quirk, it puts structure in place to help mitigate many issues.

ReasonML breaks from full compatibility, it can pick and choose JavaScript features to compromise between familiarity and functionality.

At the other extreme you have Elm, which has a similar background but won't compromise so can offer a clean break from JavaScript.

VanillaJS and CSS have changed far more than React in the last few years. ES6 and CSS grids alone brought massive changes.

Most companies understandably don't like publishing a salary so the recruiter acts a filter on both sides.

I'm a hiring manager and having a firehose of applicants would fill me with dread. My company has tried various "hacker" recruitment sites and they are all terrible - in terms of candidates and the supposed tests they use to rank applicants.

Recruiters are expensive but so is my time, they are very much a necessary evil for the foreseeable future.
