That’s around $1.5 dollars a month. No one can build something full time with that kind of pricing model. That’s more of a side income pricing model.

If pricing is too expensive the next month, then just cancel. It’s that simple. Monthly subscriptions simply give more freedom both for the user and the builder.

This kind of thinking is why sites like this one, get into financial strain. Why do you expect to get value for free? Would you be the same kind of user who complains about ads, or a highly priced one time fee? I’m glad more products are subscription based since it filters out users who are not serious.

It does not help that many expect learning material to be free online. This ends up capping the quality of learning exp as the orgs can’t re-invest earnings to make a product better.

Tweeted this in 2021: “The current state of artificial intelligence is on psychedelics and we are simply trying to sober it up.”

Stop the SV gifting. Fast, Rabbit, Lambda School, etc. These fraudsters should get punished for false advertising.

I think he’s imagining the perfect tool for himself rather than a tool that could be widely adopted. He mentioned he doesn’t care at all about raising the floor with learning tools i.e. wide accessibility. Which is a kind of a shame given how much AI now allows

I’m building a STEM tutor (https://withmarble.io). Right now it works for programming, but next is Math. I’ll test out your library and if it suits, I’ll buy a license. Thanks for sharing!

A lot of startups are selling the dream/hype of not ever having to learn to code. Be aware that it’s hype. Learn to code if you want to build stuff. They will be tools for those that have the knowledge needed to effectively use them.

That feels like a much better approach compared to Devin. Autonomous agents are great for demos, not for products. Their demo smelled like smoke and mirrors.

Which models were really bad?

They could have easily benchmarked with the Spider SQL test set but they didn’t.

I have a feeling that the more robust models might be the ones that don’t perform best on benchmarks right away.
