Bambu has the slicer (orca, bambu) download a plugin (owned and written by bambu, closed source.) which is what the controversy is about.

They had that chance to create proper auth and api for years and many developers and myself have been asking for it. Never happened, and I suspect will never happen.

Voron isn't a company, nor are they after a profit, all designs are 100% opensource. Sovol runs on a profit and uses opensource designs to run their products.

> At the end, it boils down to money: there are tons of ads on Notepad++ website, so having a competitive offering like "Notepad++ for Mac" threatens that business strategy.

Tons of ads? Really? I had to turn off my adblocker to check, but there is a single ad block on the bottom left. Is that considered a ton?

is there even a reason to use axios?

But you won't. Let's be real here. Yeah, lets gently remind ai spammers that they are truly helping but submitting bogus Issues, PRs, bug bounties, or whatever. Just like scammers from fake call centers, they are only in it for the money and hoping one hit sticks.

They are not contributors, they are spammers. There is a difference. Do you reply to spammers with friendly greetings?

The U1, so far, is looking to be a great printer. No idea on long term, but you will not find another toolchanger at that low of a price.

That is mostly true, PLA is ONLY biodegradable in a facility that can handle that. Your run of the mill recycling center in your city probably can't or won't take your PLA prints.

It seems to be pirated icon packs. see the other comment in this same parent comment.

From the little research I did, they do appear to certain block apps.

From the dev themselves in that PR

> @dasBiest: It's our business to prevent unauthorized use of iconpacks.

> Just like Substratum is keeping you away from using pirated themes for example.

Sell it to an ad agency.

It kind of is, a better metric is HDT (Heat Deflection Temperature), and it is based on curve usually load over temp.
brovonov

Plastics under load have a lower Tg.

Polymaker's ABS is dubious too because it is blended with PETG. They are coming out with a Pro version that has a higher Tg and requires way higher chamber temps to print properly.

Lower, according to the report

"Two samples from the air induction elbow were subjected to testing, using a heat-flux differential scanning calorimeter, to determine their glass transition temperature. The measured glass transition temperature for the first sample was 52.8°C, and 54.0°C for the second sample"

Yeah, they might have used ABS-CF filament, but unless they got it from a good brand that uses good resin and proper printing parameters, the actual Tg will be lower, plus the stress from the vibration/load could have made the part fail if it was not for the heat later in flight.

Yes, because they don't own the assets.

Has to be a mix of both.

Good thing I already moved away from gh to a selfhosted Forgejo instance.

Any reason why this isn't just an extension instead of another fork?
