This tells us nothing about whether non-Microsoft browsers are involved

Or even Edge with these options turned off:

>Send optional diagnostic data to improve Microsoft products [Includes how you use the browser, websites you visit, and enhanced error reporting. Determined by your Windows diagnostic data setting]

>Allow Microsoft to save your browsing activity including history, usage, favourites, web content, and other browsing data to personalise and improve Microsoft Edge and Microsoft services like ads, search, shopping, news, and Copilot [Includes your history, usage, favourites, web content and other browsing data]

I believe the address in question is https://analytics.infra.ndstudio.gov/metrics

I was confused by the instruction to run Asciinema alongside it. The use case is explained on the linked page:

https://nlnet.nl/project/Tau/

if all you need is audio, https://streammyaudio.com/ is also worth a look - a single binary containing the client and server

This page mentions international models, but seems it's still possible to flash them in any case

If you install koreader on the kobo, crosspoint on the x4 and create a free koreader sync account (or host your own sync sever): yes - but on the x4 you need to manually trigger syncs

Alternatively if you wish to stick with the stock Kobo reader app it is possible to sync via a https://grimmory.org/ instance

Isn't that what they're referring to in the next sentence? >built‑in “volume leveling”

any system with pages you "turn" certainly feels very different to reading a webpage (or PDF) with free vertical scrolling

I just discovered that MacOS was blocking Firefox from connecting to devices on my LAN - there's per-app toggle in system settings.

Access to my router's web interface was not blocked (understandably) but this left me rather confused for a while.

Kobo's devices let you bypass the account signup via a single option in a config file. Whether you do so or not it's easy to install koreader and start writing plugins for it. You can also hack on the linux OS they use
