I bought an older Android tablet (Galaxy Note) because I needed a light-weight device to take notes. It has an integrated pen for writing.
Also, there is MyScript Notes [0][1], which is an incredible app with text recognition, where you can add images and formulas and export your notes to PDF or LaTeX (even converting the formulas to LaTeX code). You can easily select and move, resize or copy/paste everything and it is quite fast on my tablet. You can also take pictures from the camera and paste them directly into the notebook, which is really neat.
I use it for everything I do, and thanks to text recognition, you can easily search all notebooks for specific keywords. There is a limited free version you can check out, paid is $2.
I am not affiliated with them, just enthusiastic about it.
Horrible. This seems way more difficult to learn, because the chosen symbols don't always make sense. Why is "let" a cat and "var" a dog, for example?
And since probably more symbols are chosen arbitrarly, the Hello World example just seems impossible to understand, as long as you don't memorize what the emojis mean. Is this really more intuitive than let x = "Hello World" ?
It would be fun if emojis were used for different purposes, maybe like
> let pigs = 2 (pig emoji)
I heard that doubling your prices until you get just enough customers and you don't need to refuse projects is the way to go. But is this strategy (or the ones in the OP) applicable for new freelancers, who want to get into it?
I admit I have only skimmed over the page, but...how does Couchbase create the connection? All I see is that you have to share a QR code with others, which is not really flexible compared to connecting ad hoc via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
Gilgamesh works similar, but is really only a message spreading method, which uses the Bluetooth name to spread messages. Consequently, it can only provide public messages and encryption won't also work. The devices do not connect to each other.
It is the equivalent of people shouting in a crowd.
The problem with most technologies is that they are not supported by every mobile device or by every OS, or are even not supported by the hardware. For a network where a high number of nodes is relevant, wide-spread use is crucial.
So, I had my 10 minutes of fame on HN. Thanks to the 25 visitors I had. My website is still very small and I am not advertising it except for HN, so it still feels crazy to have so many visitors at once check it.
If you have any valuable tips on how to add more value to my posts, feel free to answer here.
I am actually quite impressed that this is on HN. I am from the place where this dance is practiced, and it is a cultural highlight there. Most lyrics describe a physical pain and the willingness to dance to get the pain off. And as someone who likes to dance to this kind of music, I can tell you: It works!
The most popular songs are called "pizzica" and often talk about love.
I can only comment on the general mindset of German business people, but your friend should be fine. Persons from foreign countries are usually welcome and wanted!
For more information you should specify where exactly your friend is from, but if he is already studying in Germany it should pose no problem.
I like to see these projects come to life.
For years, I have had the feeling that progress had slowed down a lot after the boom of smartphones, but seeing what is coming from the robotics and AI field, I get very excited about the future.
