Sure. Can you provide some examples of what's allowed and not allowed then? Because "anything that gratifies one's intellectual curiosity" actually covers each and every topic in the world. When you exclude one topic, you're actually demeaning people who find that topic interesting.
Either there is more to this story, or the OP went to one illiterate customer care guy. OP should go and show them the official website and maybe make him/her talk to a customer care executive over phone.
Agree to what you said. Right now my mind is too distracted to think about what I want to do in granular level. But yes, doing something meaningful is always top of the list. It helps me get motivated to think that what I'm doing will help others.
That's a lot more encouragement than I hoped for. I was just confused if doing what I want is right or wrong, if not having a greater goal is wrong. I have some clue about it now.
