That seems a strange reply to a comment that acknowledged medication only really has a real effect in severe cases.
Even for a friend who is severely depressed, which medication will work? How long does each one need to be tried for? What is meant by ‘work’ exactly? Meanwhile, the serious side effects aren’t even fully understood, and you’ll be buying them from companies that actively denied and hid such information from legislators and the public.
This isn’t an “anarchists unite” situation though.
That people in a group would unite to leave that group once they feel it has been corrupted or no longer serves their interest isn’t hard to predict or understand.
Many of them may be in favor of a common currency and free trade, while disliking the swift ramp up of military spending, austerity policies, etc. enough to leave and build something else.
I mean, it’s likely you were just making a joke, but... There are currently protests heating up to riot point across Europe over these issues, and I’m not laughing.

I’ll agree with that, but you should know that’s not how your statement came across, especially the part where you seemed to deny that people could improve their quality of life with it.
If you want people to have reasonable awareness of the potential issues, that’s nice and all - but there will be a pendulum swing from the decades of bullshit from its demonization. If you want to lessen the effects of that, try to be more specific on potential harm without denying the positives.
Less harmful than alcohol, without a shadow of a doubt. Zero recorded deaths, in thousands of years of medical use - can :any: other substance say the same?
And yes for many, many people it absolutely improves their quality of life dramatically.
