Hey HN!
I’m Dennis, CTO & co-founder of Greta, https://greta.io - a tool to help monitor and improve your content delivery in real-time.
Based on the Google Lighthouse scoring, we released a new tool to generate a report providing deeper and more accurate insights into your users’ perceived performance. We are considering parameters such as geography and type of device to simulate real user conditions. We think this is valuable and hope you’ll find it too! We’re happy to get feedback or answer any questions you might have!
Haha yes that must be a bit weird! Well first of all, we think it's a beautiful old Swedish name, it was actually the name of my dad's grandmother. But also we wanted it to be a reflection of trying to build something simple and easy-to-use, as opposed to many players in the CDN space that all use the same type of big-enterprise-tech-corp names - Cloudflare, Cloudfront, Limelight, Edgecast...
Thanks a lot! The way it’s built is that you could add an image to a site and the users on that site would then distribute the image in a decentalized network amongst them. There is no way to post things from one user to others without first adding to a site with the script on.
Hi everyone. I’m Dennis, one of the founders of Greta, a small startup from Sweden. We currently support video (dash, hls, mp4), audio, images and arbitrary data. Happy to respond to any questions or comments you have! :)
Hi bat, just wanted to say the service looks really neat, will def. try it out. We’re working on a P2P distribution script (https://greta.io) so always happy to see others believing in the opportunities of P2P as well :-)
What technology do you use to set up the P2P connections?
