On these platforms, anything that challenges the echo chamber’s status quo gets flagged or downvoted into oblivion. It has nothing to do with rules or content guidelines, and everything to do with opinions and emotions.
The downvote button needs to be removed entirely, because high karma users don’t know any more than the rest of us (other than how to be addicted to a screen).
