proof of stake is efficient but not decentralized in design. the rich get richer in proof of stake

it takes a lot of computational power to secure something so important like protecting a whole digital currency. you can only make profit by creating renewable resources in bitcoin ecosystem.

dynamic typing allows for hot code swaps. which is super important for systems that need 24/7 uptime.

why not just check the array if it's empty? post doesn't give a good example.

I argue that the "better way" has more conceptual overhead. if this was a large project. just changing oil would require to understand many ideas.

costco still uses IBM products.. DB2 ... spufi anyone? I believe some companies like Gap are still using them as point-of-sale as well. It seems IBM has too many employees for the things they do.. I expect more cuts.

I'm currently a Microsoft employee, I feel like your data is secure, at least from my experiences. we are audited by consultants regularly and have internal teams making sure there are no security breaches. even things like log messages are scrubbed and strictly PR reviewed, but that's just my org. It could be different elsewhere

the title implies that el salvador is playing in a casino. They simply want to opt out of the united states controlled monopoly game. bitcoin is the currency out of the system and yet the transition phase has it still pegged since the net buyers are people who own USD. We are early it's going to take some time and education to fully depeg. I would say we are 7-25 years away from more than 15% percent adoption.

this article is clearly opinioned piece, not a "report". You can pull up facts and write a piece on the benefits on bitcoin. these guys clearly hate the president

If you are reading this please take a look at start9. https://start9.com/

The major problem with Umbrel is that even though they package all in one-solutions. If something goes wrong you rely on umbrel for issues (against decentralization). You will rely on their updates for any problems.

start9 built an linux os group up. all services are individually packaged from source.

umbrel packages all dependencies together (via docker container) which could causes issues for maintenace.

the us dollar system is the biggest pyramid scheme :D. Ask people in third world countries. Bitcoin is an alternative from US fiat currency. It is not country backed, but run by individual actors around the world. Will there be volatility? yes, welcome to a true free market system in a high inflation world

what happened to the free market economy? the incentive structure is fucked. As a person who worked my ass off this decade, it is unfair :(

I hear good things about this Tecton company, I wonder what tech stack they use!

What changed my mind was that bitcoin is truly decentralized. There is no known founder, it has free market incentives. Technologically, it is some what exciting. But what makes it great is the macro economic side of things. Proof of work, encouraging renewable energy(people on grid don't make money). It encourages people to save due to monetary policy and has made me a conscious consumer.
