My family knows I do work on the computer. That's it. We don't get into the details.

Currently on the M1 Max Macbook Pro so about a year old. I generally go for a newer system every 4-5 years now.

No. In my experience they last for several years. At this point, we'll upgrade phones maybe every 4-5 years now so its unlikely we'll use an iPhone to it's full limits of software updates but certainly don't have issues of it only lasting for a couple years with prominent issues arising or anything like that.

Definitely prefer single high quality monitor and laptop only when on the go or traveling.

I’m not into sports and I don’t follow basketball. I couldn’t tell you beyond really famous basketball players who the majority of players are. And although I grew up in Jordan’s era of basketball, I didn’t watch his games. All that to say, I enjoyed it.

If you like something, recommending it is fine. Let the people decide if it’s a topic they’re interested in it or not.

> Bank branches exist to sell new accounts. They are sited to maximize new accounts and the value of those accounts.

Funny, just recently I was trying to help someone switch banks and we went to 3 different branch locations in an attempt to open a new account.

The first didn’t have any reps working that could help open a new account and the other two didn’t have any availability to help with opening a new account and requested we schedule an appointment and come back.

We went online to schedule an appointment but the first available slot was at least 2 weeks out.

I don’t think this would work for users using aliases for their email signups.

In the existing system, [email protected] can be verified.

In the proposed reverse method, sending emails from [email protected], not [email protected], breaks the sign up flow.

This is true for catchall emails where people register using [email protected] (a forwarding address) but their real address, [email protected], as well.

It depends. In general, my preference leans towards online except for specific edge cases.

Not OP so I don't know what TLD they had but out of curiosity, I went to see how much it would cost to register a .com and it was $20/year plus free privacy only for the first month with a $1.99/month fee after. That's basically like $24 for privacy a year (which most registrars offer for free) plus the domain. That's already $44 for a .com.

It seems the only filter is by square footage to narrow results.

Are there plans to filter by more params?

It is good practice to save PDF copies of your tax returns so this way you don’t need to request them. I would recommend making a habit of this moving forward in general.

I was sharing what printer I got and that I was happy with it. Nothing more. Yes, it’s a laser printer. No, it wasn’t meant to be a comparison to Canon, ink printers, or any other printers. I’m not sure why you felt like I was trying to compare them.

Switched to a Brothers printer well over a decade ago that uses toner instead of ink and couldn’t be happier.

"Given the current trend of MPB's with huge specs and associated huge cost, it seems foolish to me that we as developers spend that much money on what is basically a desktop machine. A machine that makes compromises due to thermals and power efficiency while actually being a desktop machine."

This only applies if you never/rarely actually use your laptop for mobile purposes. While I have a monitor and desk setup that my laptop is plugged into, I travel enough or work away from my desk enough times a year that having a laptop makes sense. I prefer having one machine over having a powerful desktop and a cheap laptop. Ultimately everyone have different preferences for how they work. You should do what works best for you.

We keep bottled water and food (chips, protein bars, etc)… in our car and offer them whenever we come across someone homeless. Some take, others refuse. That’s okay. We don’t give out cash though.
