Yeah I feel right now captchas can do a decent job of providing some friction, also captcha providers work on upping their game. the pay-to-deliver is what I see as the ultimate show that this message should be relevant.
I am interested to see how this plays out and what will happen to potentially stranded assets. Not even talking about outdated chips but all these gas turbines. I appreciate what this push can do to the built out of grids etc.
I think this is a very interesting problem. I feel we would already win a lot if we had something like a bot-protection / captcha for inboxes. That little increase in friction would already up the relevancy I feel.
for those emails I would (currently) need to rely on the user to check their archive if they specifically wait for a password reset, for example.
