The word "lost" is a little bit confusing in this context. It successfully landed and operated several days, but it's location was only approximated.

We've seen landers in recent years that crashed unintentionally in precise known locations. Does this mean that they were not lost?

There is huge increase of orbital launches in recent years [1] done mostly by SpaceX and China is also planning to double its numbers in the coming years. The risks will be even higher.

SpaceX alone launched 165 Falcon 9 rockets which is more than half of the orbital launches worldwide. Decline of Russia continues, China with significant increase.
