Brother does the same thing. Eventually generic toner that does work with those updates comes out. I will say that genuine brand name toner cartridges seem to last longer than generics but there’s no difference in quality imo.

Public health recommendations aren’t medical advice though. The advice agencies give is given to everyone and so has to take things like supply chains and the economy into consideration before making recommendations.

I haven’t done it myself but I’ve heard of people harvesting LiDAR units from their old/broken robot vacuums.

Fewer crimes are committed when the weather is bad since criminals avoid going out like everyone else.

Even if they don’t share a computer you can still set up their own computers in a shared space. We don’t put tvs in bedrooms either just to keep those rooms for reading/sleeping. Added bonus of keeping computers in common spaces is that your kids won’t disappear into their rooms one day and never come back out.

Dollar Tree regular items aren’t all $1.25 anymore. Maybe half of what I’ve purchased there recently (mostly craft/gift wrap/party supplies) have changed to $1.50 or $1.75. If you grab multiple of the same item each one can ring up a different price.

In the US you can buy 100+ tests from Quest Labs directly, the price even includes a discussion with MD about the results.

I hate ads and avoid them, but haven’t had to install an ad blocker yet. I only really notice them when searching for recipes, and if I had to go through that multiple times a day I probably would get an ad blocker. I do pay for YouTube to avoid ads, and don’t watch much user generated content because it’s too ad-like imo. I quit podcasts 3 years ago, because those ads made them become unlistenable just like terrestrial radio and I just can’t go back to that kind of listening experience. I started listening to audiobooks instead and don’t miss podcasts at all.

Bottled water is most often filtered municipal water anyway.
