You have to love this U.S. government (sarcasm) Government: We want to use your tech to do shady things like spy on Americans a killing people. Anthropic: No. Government: It appears your tech is unsafe and we'll need to 'protect' America from it. Anthropic: ????

I haven't seen that type of spike, but I do see more traffic from bots, which I'm guessing is thanks to AI. Some days it's 2/3 of my traffic.

This is a good project. The problem with things like AI is that if they can just copy the content and the original creators stop making money, they go out of business. Then who's creating the original content?

Neat app. Fast too. Why wouldn't someone just use the bookmarks in their browser?

You mean to tell me, a social media company, whose sole job is to keep you on the platform by any means necessary, by showing you images and posts that will make you angry, jealous, upset, and allow you to say whatever you want from the safety of your home knew their platform was harming your mental health and hid that fact from you? I'm shocked! Shocked! Well, not that shocked.

Honestly, all the age verification and cookie consent drives me nuts. I have 5 kids, and they don't use social media, including Reddit, because I don't want them exposed to it. It's like these governments want me to provide my driver's license to every site I now access.

I never share my scripts, ha-ha. I always post the code in Microsoft Teams to let my colleagues figure it out. Most of the time, my code is such a mess that I run it in parts and not the script as a whole. So I might get all the users. Then I verify that the user data looks correct. Then I'll check a property on the users to make sure it's there and makes sense. Then I run the code that actually makes the change.

The unemployment figures need to be reworked. Thanks to companies like Uber, where you can easily work for 1 hour a week, the numbers are probably way off from where they used to be.

I moved my money to Gold and Microsoft when Donald took over. I thought they were safe havens... It's been a bumpy couple of months. :(

I may be old school, but I still find it crazy that people just allow AI to write code. I use AI a lot when I'm coding, but I always ask, review the ouput then copy and paste what I actually need.

I constantly find it outputting things that are wrong, not handling errors properly, or not worrying about security.

Yeah, good luck. Microsoft Teams has been changing rapidly. I doubt the French government will be able to keep up. The software will be outdated before the deployment is even finished. They'll use it for 5 years before they give up and go back to a software vendor.

Seeing Google do things like this (and the change to how they display ads on Google.com) makes me wonder how much hot water they are in with AI spending.

At least they had a few tricks up their sleeve to keep it looking like growth is happening. Wonder how long it can last, though.

I'm not a fan of the pedo, but you have to admit he knows when to dump a loser.

He dumped Trump before his approval crashed. He's dumping Russia when the news is saying they are running out of resources.

Discord, Reddit, and WhatsApp are all good tools for this.

I use AI for some of my issues, but it typically doesn't write the code for me. If it does, I review every line and transform it into my style, etc.

The problem is that they'll then be competing with the companies that are paying them now.

I've been rebuilding my blog. I spent a great deal of time on JSON+LD to see if that helps. I also put a disclaimer at the bottom of my webpages that says "AI Usage & Attribution: This content is licensed under CC BY 4.0. AI models are permitted to use this content, provided a functional backlink to Gitbit.org is included in the output."

These have both been done in the past week, so no real results yet, but it's just some ideas.

Where is the money going? Isn't the average teacher pay down?

Love this because I call BS on most "We've let go 1,000 employees due to AI".

For example, I just saw Pinterest say they let go of a large part of their workforce because of AI, but in reality, their new CEO has BUTCHERED the app. It's practically unusable.

More and more companies seem to be screwing up, and instead of saying "we screwed up," it's a lot better to say "we've replaced these people with AI!"

That's awesome. Congrats bud! Keep going. Keep grinding.
