technically there is nothing new in this clip. People have been singled out and murdered for since we exist and sometimes nobody is singled out but everybody killed with a bomb. nonetheless there is something undeniably creepy and unsettling about being killed by a soulless machine.
to develop countermeasures is always way harder than developing an assaulting technology. like firing a rocket is easy, but catching it mid flight is very difficult.
it also seems that most people are too optimistic with regards to involvement of robots and ai in war. first of all an asymmetric kill power distribution will lead to asymmetric war anyway - that's what is referred to as terrorism. if an opponent has no chance fighting a 1on1 battle they will resort to planting bombs in malls. and the idea that robots Will fight for humans is also very naive because if the robots are done on one side then humans will be back fighting.
you definitely have a point. but Berlin is still without doubt am exceptionally exciting town to live in. and public transportation is just as broken in Munich.
> I have almost nothing in common with the people of Alabama.
seriously? you have very much in common with them. you want clean water to drink and air to breath, healthy food to eat, peace, a non-corrupt and efficient government, safety, medical infrastructure and so on ...
the text is not superbly written at all. it's an advertisement with lots of plot holes and utterly absurd formulations of any kind. just the sleep/sister analogy is so weird and pointless it made me cringe ...
people from country A can only hide money in country B if the number of people from B hiding money in A is not significant to the government or society of B and vice versa. otherwise A and B would sooner or later have an agreement to avoid this because both will make more money then through taxes. that's what happend with Switzerland and the EU.
yes, but the English spoken by most non-natives is actually something like an Esperanto. the pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar is almost normalized and an artificial dialect. i think English is a very good compromise. the only problem are French people and other communities who disdain English for patriotical, historical, or political reasons.
