I had the pleasure of working with Jeff in ... I want to say 2012 - he taught me so much, is a fabulous developer and teammate, and we had some great times together.

Edit: mise rocks.

> The first and second half of the framebuffer are identical, so we can cut it in half to get our screen contents. I don't know why this happens, but we can easily make our display driver duplicate pixels to both halves of the framebuffer.

I've been using Alacrity/Sway for at least that long, and it's been perfect. Maybe I have a low end machine.

> you’re a programmer, you might think that the fiddliness of programming is a special feature of programming, but really it’s that everything is fiddly, but you only notice the fiddliness when you’re new, and in programming you do new things more often.

I disagree. With physical objects there is elbow grease; a reality mistake on the level of a typo is minor compared to a programming typo which is as good as having no program written at all.
