I’ve always thought that to succeed in life, I just had to be good at the technical and knowledge part. That’s why I’ve always given top priority to my studies and learning new skills. I went to Université Ibn Zohr for 5 years, earned a two-year degree in physics, learned graphic design, and landed an internship with AJICOD. At the same time, I worked as an English telemarketer with H A Modern Homes to cover university costs.

Then, in 2022, I had an amazing chance to join the best IT school in Morocco-yes, 1337 Coding School-the perfect place where I honed my technical skills. After that, I landed an internship with OCP Maintenance Solutions. And throughout all this time, I was focused only on learning. I thought I just had to be good at the technical side, which is why I didn’t spend much time on networking, events, or social media.

In my free time, I consumed an insane amount of books on self-improvement, marketing, sales, startups, business, and productivity. On top of that, I listened to countless podcasts on self-improvement, business, startups, psychology, and more.

Guess what? I was wrong. All those years, I knew I was missing something. I had always heard and read about the power of personal branding, networking, and how social media can scale anything you do and set you apart. I always knew that people prefer dealing with people, not logos, and how the economy of influence is growing. And I probably know what you’d say if I asked you to name an electric car company.

I guess I was just comfortable not putting effort into networking or growing my social presence.

So, after all those years, I can certainly say that one call may save you months of hard work, one network can save you years of effort, time, and energy, and an ordinary product can crush an amazing product if the first one is backed by powerful personal branding.

I can also say that whatever you are searching for-whether it’s an internship, job opportunity, investment, partnership, or a customer-you should know that in another world, you might just need one call. Yes, one simple call can get you what you need. And you’re probably struggling now because the person you should call or text isn’t in your contact list.

You should know that no one will understand your value if you don’t market it. Marketing yourself is not an option-it’s a necessity.

You should also know that people are not posting on social media for no reason. And if you’re asking whether it’s worth it, I’ll say this: if you don’t have a digital presence, you are almost invisible. It’s never too late to play this game, and I probably don’t need to tell you how.
