I was a big fan of Arch for several years but since the introduction of systemd I felt I lost control and didn't really knew what was running in my system anymore. Been using Voidlinux for the last 2 years and I just can't go back to Arch

try athonet, they do telco and use erlang, they are moving more towards elixir nowadays so that might be a show stopper for you though

Linux programs don't normally do that, they put files in known places /bin, /etc /lib and so on
