For those scratching their heads asking who is this guy and why should I care?

He has been tackling the open source sustainability issue since launching gittip circa 2012. Since then millions of dollars have been raised for open source because of him. Sure it’s a drop in the bucket but he did it.

Chad is a friend of mine. You can’t find a nicer person in tech than him. I hope this is temporary because he can still make a huge impact. Either way I respect his decision and hope he finds peace offline. TBH I’m a little jealous.

I hope that Claude will replace the firefly speech to text models that Adobe has in Premiere. They are so bad. If you know, you know.

Correction: They deleted their prod db and then they had another agent write an em dash filled postmortem. No shame.

I was on a company retreat last month. My coworker was on their phone the whole time on the bus ride over to dinner I finally looked over and it was a Claude Code session. The addiction is real.

I haven’t tried the desktop but I use the CLI tool multiple times a day (sometimes hour) and I just want to thank the team for making my life easier.

I’ve been using nano as my default bash profile editor for over 15 years. It’s also great for quick updates for other config files.

Definitely going to enable mouse support. Didn’t know that was possible.

Great question. For me it feels faster (anecdotally) and certain TUI components don’t break. It also is probably my bias of loving his work as well as everyone at work using it. Hive mentality I suppose.

The passion and attention to detail Mitchell has for developer experience is beyond me. I remember the first time I used Vagrant (2011, Santa Monica California) like it was yesterday it was that impactful.

I never thought in a million years I would even think of ditching iTerm2 but when Ghostty dropped I installed it and fell in love.
