If anyone is interested in helping this project along there is an indiegogo page (below). I have no vested interest in this project, I simply think it's a great use of new tech with an altruistic bent.
I don't think this article gives nearly enough credence to the amazing pool of information that Facebook is. It's brilliant for organising social events and keeping track of people, it doesn't have to be a great evil. Used responsibly it is on of the best things about the internet.
I am concerned by the revelation that all the program and user data will be held on the Google servers. Sure, it makes for a very secure back-up and the speed it will achieve on smaller machines will be astounding, but do I need one company to have ownership of all my data/information?
