I also do not believe that this is primarily aimed at ptotecting children. I think the goal is to counteract the bot-farms that spread disinformation, instigate violence, and so on. Which Russia, by the way, pioneered and scaled up to make a material difference in elections in the West. It is a real problem for which no effective solution has been found.

Would you mind sharing your opinion on what is behind these latest restrictions on Fable and Mythos?

It will probably be an attempt to sneak SpaceX into S&P500 through the Tesla backdoor. Someone needs those 401k monies.

It's not about structured/unstructured play at all. Basketball and hockey teams in the very same USA are world class.

It's about in which sports in the country the pro clubs pay top money. It's that simple. It sets up the incentives for families, and everything else follows.

99.99% of the kids who play in the street have a lot of fun but will never make it anywhere near pro sports.

If you have a choice (an offer) to be a pro player at 18, it means you had already given up on school by 12 or younger.

Right. That"s why Epstein wired millions of dollars to Russia, had a Russian bodyguard, gave away his estate to some Belorussian woman, and so on. Obviously, Mossad at work here!

Despite the budget, that is clearly one thing where Israel has fallen behind its adversaries.

I do not think that is correct. For example, Excalibur [1] relies on GPS and proved to be quite inefficient in Ukraine. Russia figured out how to jam them in a few months.

What's the urgency to bend the rules? It is not like SpaceX is banned for good. It will be included as soon as it meets the requirements.

Kudos and respect to the S&P people!

Gold is back in vogue. Look at the White House, for example. All gold and glitter. Of course, others are trying to immitate the style, hence the demand for gold.

I read his autobiography. Besides the genome work, which undoutedly was of historical importance, one thing that impressed me the most, was how he slept on the surgery table in the opersting room after cleaning blood from it in Vietnam. Somehow it was safer than in the barracks. I was like wow, this guy definitely knew how to think outside the box!

I did not read this book but I read another one by Mallaby about hedge fund managers. It was pretty biased to the point that I did not recognize one of the managers I knew about (Michael Steinhardt). The guy who himself confessed in a lot of his past shady stuff in his 2001 book. Mallaby's book from 2010 did not bring up any of that shady stuff. It was like reading about a totally different person.

Of course, I am not trying to prove moral equivalency between Steinhardt and Hassabis. But it is worth keeping this in mind when reading something by Mallaby. Do not expect completeness or impartiality.

I just looked it up. Those are turboprop (slower) but have a high ceiling of 50k feet. So Iran did have something better than stingers left. Maybe they just got lucky this time.

Downvoters, care to explain?

Seriously, it's been sitting on this for entire month and now, all of a sudden, rolled out antiaircraft defense? What's going on?

Why didn't Iran use its capability to take down enemy jets for an entire month?

Surely, Ukraine being such an awefully corrupt country, Putin was easily able to bribe his way to Kyiv and take it in three short days. Oh, wait... maybe someone is spewing russian propaganda here?
