I think the biggest issue is the majority of internet users don't want to join small communities, just one website or app that has all their friends and family. Aside from this, the cost of making a big (the main goal of every social network is go big or go home) social network is increasing as "big" gets bigger and safety requirements get harder to meet.
Personally I see “Written in rust” as more of a meme, often using buzzwords like “blazing fast” and “memory safe.” Electron is definitely worse than rust is good.
I’m sure this will happen, and there will definitely be instances of the bot giving users bad code, but it would be incredibly difficult to make it solely give out bad code.
Take what i say with a grain of salt, (I’m not an iPhone hacker and I follow their work semi-loosely but from my understanding there are a number of available and documented tethered exploits. I wouldn’t doubt theres a number of untethered exploits that are waiting in Apple’s bug tracker system, or are simply too abusable for the general public to know about.
