I read this article before starting my PhD. A few months ago, I successfully defended my thesis and completed my PhD. Even though it was just a small contribution, I’m proud to have pushed the boundaries of human knowledge.
I suggest Proton to stick with the WKD procedure. Having CNAME record pointing to wkd.keys.openpgp.org or serving the public key on openpgpkey.example.org subdomain can be indicators showing that the receiver is willing to received email encrypted with the public key served via WKD. Otherwise, no need to fetch the key from public keyservers.
I understand Proton's motto is "Privacy by default". But, is it possible to have an alternative option to make Proton Bridge act as a standard IMAP and SMTP server? It could be turned off by default, and requires users to turn it on by themselves.
The software behind Codeberg is Forgejo, which is a fork of Gitea. The team of Forgejo is working on a federation protocol based on ActivityPub. Once it is done, it will be able to exchange data with other Forgejo servers and any server supporting that protocol. So, we may expect that Codeberg will transform from centralized to federated.
sr.ht chooses another approach. You only need an email to submit codes, file issue, join discussion, etc. From perspective of source hosting, it is centralized. But, from perspective of project collaboration, it is decentralized.
I have been using Kagi as my default search engine for a month now. It really provides better search experience than google.
Nowadays, Google Search is flooded by SEO. When you search things on Google, you will likely get tons of listicles titled "Top <keyword> 2023", "<keyword1> vs <keyword2> comparison", which barely contains some useful contents. Sometimes, you will even see some AI-generated gibberish articles repeating some basic information about your keywords. It becomes much harder to find useful contents from google than the old days.
Kagi search results have fewer nonsense articles. They groups those listicles together so that you can easily skip them. The feature I like the most is Personalized Results, which allows you to pin/raise/lower/block results from certain domains. For example, I pin wikipedia.org, and block quora.com.
