"How to befriend crows", also known as "how to get away with a murder".

I've always hated the phrase "boy racer". So condescending...

Apparently the one app requires permissions for "an overview of your exact location, the ability to make direct calls via your phone and the ability to disable your screen lock."

I've never heard of any app being able to make calls or disable the lock screen. Is that even possible? I suspect maybe on Android?

Not when you factor in equipment, travel, keeping the lights on, etc.

Because Jeff Geerling is an internet personality and uses opportunities like this for publicity.

With a good chunk of that money being allocated to getting young Americans killed (i.e. military spending).

Reminds me of the 8-bit guy's device he created for manually programming character lcd displays.

It demonstrates how technology we take for granted obfuscates how complex basic tasks can be.

I miss this sort of drama...

This is simultaneously interesting and useless.

Hang in there, man. I can totally relate. I too find myself getting tired out at the three year mark at companies, and switching things up has always helped. Although it's easier to not burn the bridge when you switch positions internally rather than start a completely different company (since often that other company can be the main competitor to the one you are leaving).

Github has always had a bad history graph. I've always wondered why we can't just have a live Github history graph like in Sourcetree.

Good point. V8 gave us Node.js, right? Also I've been out of the loop for a while now about Firefox. My understanding was Firefox had a pretty bad memory leak for a long time. Was that ever resolved?

Edit: Saw your edit. Glad the firefox memory problem was resolved.

Crazy thing is Mozilla was heavily funded by Google for years before Chrome came out.
